What a synthetic index is
A synthetic index is a price series produced by a program rather than by buyers and sellers. Nobody is bidding on it. There is no company behind it, no earnings, no central bank. It exists so there is something to trade that behaves statistically like a market and is available when markets are shut.
That is the honest description. It means a synthetic index cannot be researched the way a currency pair can, because there is no underlying economy to research. What it can be is characterised: each of our four families is generated by a different process with different parameters, and those parameters do not change without notice.
Where the price comes from
Prices are produced by a service that does nothing else. It runs geometric Brownian motion with mean reversion and regime switching, seeded from the operating system’s entropy pool, and emits a tick every one or two seconds depending on the index.
It runs apart from the API and apart from trade execution, and it does not know what anybody has traded. That separation is the point: an engine that could see open positions is an engine that could be accused of moving against them.
What we are not
We are not a broker. We do not route orders to an exchange, we do not hold a position against the interbank market, and we are not offering you exposure to real-world assets. When you buy a contract here, the counterparty is Tradenex.
That is a normal arrangement for this product and it is also the thing most worth knowing about it. It is why the engine is a separate service, why settlement is server-side and append-only, and why every contract can be replayed tick by tick after the fact. Those are the controls that make the arrangement checkable rather than something you have to take on trust.
Built where our customers are
Deposits arrive by crypto on several chains and, in Kenya, by M-Pesa STK push. Balances are held and shown in the currency you funded in. Withdrawals go back to the same rails.

Risk. Synthetic indices are volatile by design. It is possible to lose your whole stake on any single contract, and losses can accumulate quickly at short durations. Trade the demo account until you can explain, before you buy, exactly how a contract settles and what it pays.
